The first Spitzhauben came to the US after World War II when a German prisoner of war who spent time in a military detention camp in Alabama returned to the US to gain citizenship, he brought with him some hatching eggs and those chicks that hatched became the foundation stock of the Spitzhauben in the US.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Spitzhauben are a non-broody bird that lays lots of white eggs.
