Silkes, this line of Silkie is crested and not bearded. I find that they can see better without so much fluff around the head area and I love that you can see their lovely blue ears. One good thing about Silkies is that they're small and they don't require a lot of space, they do well in small areas. Second good thing, they lay lots of eggs.

I wasn't sure I would like silkies until I gave them a try. My first thought was this fluffy puff ball will never survive our sloppy, muddy farm. You've got to be one tough bird to survive our Southern Illinois stifling hot summers and frigid windy winters. Well, these tough puffs have taught me a thing or two about Silkies. They can withstand our terrible wet winters and our steamy hot summers and take them with good stride. They're tough little birds, so don't count them out, give-um a try.

I have two different verities of Silkies, this line is the Crested, not bearded. The colors that we're breeding are Buff, Black, and Partridge. Silkie chicks are sold straight run. When placing a chick order please order several so that they can stay warm during shipment. 3 or 4 chicks will not be able to stay warm.
