New to the farm this year is the Kikiriki, and I must say I adore them!!  The Kikiriki (also widely known as the Puerto Rican Bantam or Gallito Kikiriki) is a tiny pocket-sized, micro chicken packed with maximum attitude and royal posture.  Weighing barely 13 ounces, adult Kikirikis fit comfortably in the palm of your hand.

They stand with an exaggerated, vertical chest-out pose.  Holding their wings low to the ground and their tail feathers pointing almost straight up at a 90-degree angle.  They support themselves on the tiniest little, short legs.  Despite their tiny size, roosters possess fearless, high-energy temperaments, however they still love to sit in the palm of your hand and have the cutest high-pitched crow.

Kikirikis have many physical traits; we're hatching some Topi (Crested), Bonehead (Vaulted skull), and Bolo (Rumpless), it's been so fun to anticipate each week what will hatch.

Kikirikis are super resilient and adaptable.  There is a common misconception that Kikirikis are too fragile for cold climates.  Like all poultry, you need to allow them to acclimate naturally as the seasons change.  They do need a good coop and need to be kept dry and out of the wind during the winter months.

Kikirikis come in almost every feather color and pattern imaginable, from stark white and deep mahogany to intricate laced and speckled plumage.

The Kikiriki chicks hatch out about the size of quail, and because they're so fragile as a chick, we will not be shipping the chicks in the mail.  We will only sell this breed as started pullets and roosters, as they become available, we will list them on the pullet page.
