The Malines were created in Belgium back in the 1800's as a meat bird. This is a very heavy breed; roosters can weigh over 12 lbs. We have a couple that are topping the scales at 14 lbs. There are many color varieties of the Maline, but the black herringbone pattern is the most common. The black and white pattern goes from the top of their head to the tip of their toes. Absolutely stunning!
This is an extremely rare bird in the US and very difficult to find, I can only find 1 other farm that sells them, but they do not ship the chicks. Help us to work and save this breed, they're worth the effort! You can choose to order Female or Male Maline chicks, this is a new option for this breed.
The hens are also a very heavy bird but super friendly and gentle, they lay a cream-colored egg that is large. If you want a friendly bird that will follow you around and interact with you, this is it!
We are now going to sell the Malines as a sexed chick, they are an auto sexing breed if you know what you're looking for, and I've made these comparisons for 10 years. The process is not 100% accurate and mistakes can be made but I will do my very best for my customers!

We traveled to Greenfire Farms in the spring of 2016 to pick up our breeder flock and also took a farm tour. (They no longer give tours) During our tour as we walked past the Malines pen, I was so impressed with the way their little faces were pressed up against the fence just waiting for us to visit them, I knew instantly that I had to have this bird. The hens beg for your attention, I love it. Malines are sold straight run.
We have a 10 chick minimum, these 10 can be a mix of any of our breeds. This keeps the babies warm and healthy in the box. We guarantee live delivery of 10 or more chicks.
If you choose vaccinated chicks, we vaccinate for Marek's only, you will need to feed chicks a medicated chick feed.
