New to the farm, hailing from the sun-drenched Catalonia region of Spain, the Penedesenca are incredibly sharp, alert and swift. Their hyper-aware nature makes them master predator dodgers and enthusiastic free-rangers that practically feed themselves when given space to roam.
With their sleek bodies, large wattles, and Mediterranean bloodlines, they handle hot, humid summers with absolute ease, staying active and productive long after heavy dual-purpose breeds slow down.
If you think dark brown eggs stop at Marans, think again. Crele Penedesenca's lay dark reddish-brown to deep terracotta eggs, they lay a medium to large eggs. They will produce 160-200 eggs per year. The Crele Penedesenca is also an auto sexing breed and can be easily sexed at hatch, the coloring and appearance is similar to the Bielefelder but with a smaller body.
Whether you're looking to elevate your egg color palette or add a rare, regal piece of Spanish poultry history to your farm, the Penedesenca delivers intense visual impact, fierce independence, and beautiful dark eggs. Hope to have egg photos soon!
ATTENTION: Penedesenca is an auto sexing breed, so you can choose male or female chicks. We require orders of a minimum of 10-day old chicks. These 10 can be a mix of any of our breeds. This keeps the babies warm and healthy in the box. We guarantee live delivery of 10 or more chicks.
If you wish to order fewer, please contact us. This would be for an order for farm pickup of less than 10, or an order of less than 10 that has no live delivery guarantee.
